Director/Vice President

Position Description

This pyramid head position is responsible for developing and leading this company’s shrinkage reduction efforts and integrating these efforts throughout the entire organization. The position usually reports to the CEO/President, CFO or VP Stores. In some companies this position reports to the VP Human Resources, however this is a minority of retailers and can present a serious conflict of interest. Regardless of the direct reporting relationships, a successful VP/Director recognizes that all of these executives are key business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and review the current Loss Prevention methodologies and efforts
  • Create a strategic plan to incorporate new ideas and deliver positive results
  • Build, develop and manage the Loss Prevention team
  • Leverage technology wherever possible
  • Establish strong relationships throughout the entire organization
  • Ensure the department goals and objectives apply to the company culture
  • Establish and manage a department budget
  • Maintain an acceptable shrinkage level in a professional and cost effective manner
  • Improve the organization's profit while minimizing their legal exposures

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years loss prevention experience
  • 5+ years in a multi-store environment
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Seasoned retail Loss Prevention executive
  • Proven history of successful shrinkage reduction efforts
  • Thorough understanding of retail operations, inventory control and reconciliation, current technological applications, organizational management and budget administration
