Loss Prevention Agent (DC)
Position Description
This is usually an entry level position into Loss Prevention. It usually requires working in an industrial setting, with variable climates inside the building and working closely with the Facility Management and employees. Secure the facility as directed by Management. Patrol and supervise the actions of employees and visitors. Assist the department in all aspects of Loss Prevention. Train new employees, and Contract security officers as directed. Perform shortage research and generate incident reports.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for conducting Inventory control targeted audits in the following areas: Cross dock, shipping, receiving, trailer documentation and quality control and pick accuracy
- Responsible for initiating internal and external investigations based off the above audit results and/or received information from floor associates
- Responsible for conducting all shortage related audits located in the LP shortage database
- Monitor associate, vendor and visitor entrances and exits from the buildings
- Assist in Fire, Tornado, and Earthquake evacuations by showing the evacuation routes and shelters to associates
- Responsible for keeping the facility secure during non-operational hours
- Conduct bag checks on all associates leaving the buildings
- Assure that contractors are signed in, escorted to work areas
- Monitoring and responding to facility alarms Monitoring facilities’/campus’ CCTV system
- Prevention and Compliance
- Be available to work any shift or facility within campus upon request
- Maintain communications with the Loss Prevention and Facility Management
- Assure that all daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities are completed
- Assist with the operational audit process
- Control all overnight and closed shift trailer activity
- Signing and accepting paperwork, logging trailers information and submitting paperwork on next available shift
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Loss Prevention and/or security procedures preferred, but not required
- Able to maintain constant awareness of surroundings
- Must posses good oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated; must be able to work with little supervision
- Must present a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
- High School Diploma or equivalent required CPR/First Aid Certification preferred but not required
- Ability to work all shifts
