Loss Prevention Agent (Store)

Position Description

The position of Loss Prevention is to ensure the protection of the company assets and the safety of customers and associates. Individuals need to be able to work a varied schedule of days, evenings and weekends. The position requires interaction with store management, employee's, law enforcement and the public as needed. While this may be an entry level position at some specialty store retailers, in general several years of experience and training as shoplift agent or manager is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the reduction of loss in the store(s)
  • Following corporate guidelines and applicable state laws, apprehend customers or employee's stealing from the company
  • As directed by Loss Prevention Management, conduct surveillance operations and other investigations
  • Coordinate with Loss Prevention Management on corporate shrink reduction programs
  • Conduct store level operational audits, coordination of corporate fire and safety programs.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner in an environment consisting of diverse personalities
  • Ability to function well in pressured situations and make sound decisions
  • Must be at the legal age to perform a citizens arrest
